Drag a field onto the page and choose who fills it in.

Kera has its own e-signature built in. Open a lease or agreement in the PDF editor, place the fields, choose who signs, and send it. Tenants and owners sign in their portal or from an email link, and when everyone's done you get the signed PDF and a signing certificate on the record it belongs to.

Before, getting a lease signed often meant a second tool with its own logins and its own cost for every envelope, and then filing the result back where your team could find it. Signing in Kera works the same way on leases, notices, inspection reports and owner agreements, with no separate account for your signers and no per-envelope fee.

Place fields and choose who signs

When you add a lease, attach the document and choose Sign lease, it opens in the editor's Prepare mode. The people on the lease appear as recipients: you, each tenant and, where the property has one, the owner. For each person, choose whether they sign, get a copy, or are left out.

Drag signature, date, text and checkbox fields onto the page, or click a field in the list to add it to the page you're on, and assign each one to the person who fills it in. Signature fields are required by default. You can also sign your own fields before you send. The first time you open Prepare, a short tour shows you around.

Set the order and the deadline

By default everyone can sign at the same time. If one person should sign after another, such as a guarantor after the tenant, drag them into steps. People in the same step sign together, and nobody is emailed until it's their turn.

Each request carries an offer expiry, set to 30 days to start with. You can change it or remove it before you send. When the request is ready, saving sends it.

Put signers in steps so each one signs in turn.

Let people sign without an account

Signers who have a Kera account sign from their portal. Everyone else gets an email with a secure link. They enter a 6-digit code that Kera sends to the same address, agree to sign electronically, and then draw their signature.

On a phone, the document can open in a mobile friendly view with readable text, large fields and a Next button. Before they finish, signers see the original layout with their entries filled in, so they can check exactly what they're signing. Anyone who can't sign can choose "I can't sign this", which stops the request and tells you.

See where each signature stands

The Signatures card on the lease, notice or agreement shows each person's status: waiting for their turn, notified, viewed, signed or declined. You can resend to one person with a fresh link. Kera also nudges signers who've gone quiet for three days and warns them and you about 48 hours before a request expires.

When the last person signs, everyone gets the signed PDF and a signing certificate. The certificate records who signed and in what order, how each person was identified, the consent they gave, a timestamped log of each step, and a fingerprint of the document. Need to change something after sending? Cancel the request, edit the document, and send a new one.

To get started, go to Leases and choose Add lease. At "Do you have the lease document?", upload or draft the lease, then choose Sign lease. Preparing documents is for landlords and property managers. Tenants, owners and guests sign and view.
